What is coaching?
Coaching is a partnership between two people that evokes thinking from the client to maximize personal or professional potential, resolve ambivalence about change, or identify goals. This is done in an atmosphere of presence, acceptance, compassion, and cultural sensitivity to the client.
My coaching background
I am a Professional Certified Coach, credentialed by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), as well as a Board Certified Coach and have practiced since 2006. I am also a coach educator and serve on the faculty of Coaching Out of the Box, an ICF-accredited coach training program. I received my training in coaching at New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies in 2006 and served there as a career coach, where I partnered with mid-career professionals pursuing industry-specific graduate degrees or undergraduate degrees as they navigated career changes or upgrades. I have also collaborated with individuals from all walks of life on personal development and wellness goals.
A standard package includes three one-hour sessions, with the option for additional sessions, to discuss career adjustments, transitions, or aspirations. Coaching may also include discussing résumé enhancement, job search strategies, and interview preparation.
Leadership coaching covers a broad spectrum that may include professional or personal goals, or a blend of both. This type of coaching can pertain to how one leads an organization, a team, or oneself with regard to lifestyle, wellness, relationships, etc.
